You’ll never know betrayal
when you look into a mirror
To see those sagging spots of skin
To see the wedge, that once was your chin..
You’ll never know betrayal
when you come back from the doctors
To know that you’re about to die
To count the days, that soon pass by
You’ll never know betrayal
when you go for an exam that once
To know your hands are trembling much
To see the ruthless clock, say lunch
You’ll know betrayal, on that day
when your soul tells you to help, to stay
But you look at your watch, and mutter in dismay,
God I’m late.. No time today
Because my friend, in the game of betrayal
The player and played have an intimate relation
They are both you
It’s a mutual decision
I feel blessed by your writing right now.
